2004 coin, Canada coin, Arctic Fox. 9999 Silver 4-coin Fractional Set (1)
J & M Coin and Jewellery. 2004 Canada Arctic Fox. 9999 Silver 4-coin Fractional Set The Arctic Fox (Alopex lagopus), also known as the white fox, is found throughout the arctic circumpolar lands of the northern hemisphere. With its compact body form, well-furred ears, and thick hair on the soles of its feet, it is very well adapted to the arctic environment. The white fox feeds mostly on lemmings. It is normally a solitary animal, except during the mating season or when its lured to a feast. Unlike most wild animals, it has little fear of humans and often approaches them to have a closer look. Take home one of the Arctic’s most endearing residents with the 2004 Silver Proof Coins – the first fractional fine silver coins to feature stunning wildlife designs that were originally crafted for platinum proof coins. What’s more, these beautiful silver proof coins were minted using the same conventions that are normally reserved for high-end bullion coins – they are issued in fractions of 1, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10 oz. Each coin is struck with a different vignette on the life and habitat of the arctic fox – each one an exquisite work of art that first appeared on the Platinum Proof Coins in 1993.
