J & M Coin and Jewellery. The solitary and elusive Canadian Lynx lives in Canada’s boreal forests from Newfoundland to the Yukon Territories. With thick fur, prominent cheek ruffs, a short, black tipped tail and over size paws its is perfectly adapted for the winter. The revers designs of these coins were beautifully rendered by Michael Dumas and were originally featured on the 1995 platinum coin set. They feature a female Lynx with her kittens, a solitary lynx prowling over rocky terrain, two lynx kittens exploring and a stately profile of this magnificent animal.
