Masterfully captures the beauty of Canada’s national emblem in the autumn landscape. At four inches, your coin’s large diameter presents the perfect-sized canvas for the outstanding level of technical precision and detailing that bring this striking artistic design to life! 99.99% PURE SILVER! With a limited mintage of only 500 coins worldwide! Designed by Canadian artist Julius Csotonyi, your coin features outstanding full colour over the engraved depiction of a maple leaf, which is seen here as part of Canada’s stunning autumn landscape. In a wooded area, the cool autumn breeze has already caused brightly coloured maple leaves to tumble down to the ground. Each leaf is brought to life through careful engraving and a vibrant mix of red, yellow, orange and green colours; these give the leaf pile a natural look and feel while providing a colourful backdrop to the fallen tree. Detailed engraving masterfully recreates the rough texture of the fissured bark, upon which lays the beloved Canadian icon: a maple leaf. It, too, is resplendent in full colour against the muted colours of the tree trunk, while shadows subtly infuse the breathtaking design with a sense of light, depth and dimension. Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded wood case with a graphic beauty box that compliments the coin’s design. 2012 Edition – 1200 Mintage. A collecting opportunity not to be missed! This numismatic tribute to Canadas treasured national symbol was launched last year with a coin crafted in an astounding one kilogram of fine silver (99.99% pure). Special features: 1 kg of fine silver (99.99% pure). Limited to 1,200 coins worldwide. Serrated edge and image relief adds to your coins uniqueness. The field (flat background) has a highly hand polished mirror-like finish. Design: A trilogy of maple leaves; the spirit of Canadas national flag echoed in the leaf proudly centered in the foreground. Inspired by the iconic maple leaf design that has graced Canadas one-cent circulation coin since 1937. Packaging: Each coin is encapsulated and presented in a handsome Canadian maple wood box lined with black flock and protected by a customized sleeve. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. Was this review helpful? You may also flag this review. As a collector, I found the hologram effects to be a bit lacking. I was expecting more from such a pricey coin. Other than that, the overall representation of the howling wolf and the Northern Lights is very eye-catching. Customers found this review helpful. No Cons-the Perfect Coin. The holographic effect is stunning. Just in time as it turns out. I cannot understand why some complain about the poor holographic effect. My coin is flamboyant under natural and artificial light. Maybe there is some spread during minting. The value and quality of this coin is (to me) much higher than that of any colored one. I hope that it will not tarnish for a long time, because I fear that the oxidation will destroy the effect. The only con: poor artistic image of the wolf. The front legs seem out of proportion (too thin). Hard To See Hologram. Beautiful design though have to hold the coin up to the light to really see the Hologram effect. A most Beautiful Coin. A Lover Of Art, Quality Driven. This is a Gift for my son. He loves wolves and this coin is perfect because not only is it a beautiful Wolf but the hologram effect of the Northern Lights is stupendous. Keep up the good work RCM. Bargain Hunter, Quality Driven. It’s a Beauty, Eh! Lovely addition to collection. After having read other comments about not being able to see the colors & knowing that it’s probably just how it was being held I took a chance and bought this coin. It’s not in-your-face color as some may have liked it to be. It’s more subtle but you can see various colors which come alive as you turn the coin. Love the wolf/northern lights theme. Comes in plastic encasement presented in a a nice little hinged box with cert. Possibly will give this as gift to a nephew. Canadian Collector, Quality Driven. Great Addition To The Col. It’s so awesome to see the shimmering Aurora Borealis as I turn the coin in the light. Another remarkable product of the Royal Canadian Mint. Hologram not as visible as in the pictur. Not sure if a quality issue but cannot get the colours as per the picture -? No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Do you have questions about this product?
